All locations must have routable IP's (between all locations.)

We recommend that users connect sites using high-speed methods (DSL, Cable modem, T-1, ISDN, etc.) when these are available, FiOS). When using these methods, we strongly recommend using a VPN for maximum security, but fixed IP's at all locations, however are also an option. If you choose to not use a VPN or Fixed IPs, dynamic DNS is an acceptable alternative. Sites can also use point-to-point connections with specific hardware (must use a Netopia 9120XL modem-router. ) Connectivity between sites must be handled by a device which is separate from the DVMax application server (hardware router, or router appliance/server).

If your connectivity requires a VPN you must use a hardware accelerated VPN. We will not support DVMAX MPA on a software VPN.

You can combine these methods if needed, but please consult with us on your specific requirements before planning purchases, etc.

At least one site (ideally a main or central site) must have fixed IP connectivity, (DSL, Cable, T-1, etc.) (strongly recommended), or Router-Router communications over 56k using Netopia 9120XL routers.

All other sites must have one of the following:

• Fixed IP DSL/Cable (strongly recommended)
• Dynamic IP DSL/Cable w/ dynamic DNS
• Dynamic IP DSL/Cable using Netopia 9120 XL routers
• Point to Point communications using 56K Modems (Netopia 9120XL routers)

All If you are using a VPN, no port forwarding is necessary. Otherwise, with fixed IPs/Dynamic DNS, all sites must have TCP ports *7070, 7500, 7501 and 19812-19822 open and these ports should always be forwarded to the server machine & all sites must be able to be 'pinged' from each other and from outside. The ping should also be forwarded to the server machine (this will be used to test functional connectivity as a starting point.) The connectivity and servers must be in place 1 full week before installation and training begins. This means that the following things must be in place at that time:
*The Web Server HTTPs port needs to be open forwarded. This is typically port 7070. If your Web Server HTTPs port is not 7070, then that port will need to be open and forwarded as well.

1. Servers installed and configured.
2. DVMAX Server software installed and running with a demo datafile.
3. Connectivity in place and working.
4. Designated ports open and forwarded on routers.
5. IP addresses or domain addresses known and sent to DVMAX Training Manager for
testing.
