- Versions listed as certified with a particular operating system means that the 4D version on which DVMAX is built has been certified by the developer of that application. Certified versions will have a Yes in the column.
- Versions listed as compatible with a particular operating system means that the DVMAX development team has done testing on the operating systemthere are DVMAX customers successfully using this version. The application will work, but there may be certain features or areas of the system affected. These will be noted below as they are identified.
- Operating systems that are not yet listed are still undergoing testing. It is our recommendation that clinics postpone upgrading their operating system until the version is listed as compatible on this document.
- DVMAX certification or compatibility does not guarantee all 3rd party drivers necessary to run peripherals used by DVMAX (such as printer drivers or Keyspan adapter drivers) will be compatible with the listed Operating System.
- If using 3rd party applications, such as Integrated Credit Card processing, please confirm with the vendor which operating systems are currently supported for their application.

* DVMAX should run in compatibility mode for Windows XP, but we have not tested all older versions on Windows Vista/7
**Windows 8.1 will not be able to print invoices and some reports due to a Microsoft bug. All other aspects of the DVMAX program work.
*** Mac OS 10.6 will sometimes prompt for the OS Admin password when printing if logged in as a standard user. A delay is also noticed when printing.
**** DVMAX 7.5 will 'run' on Mac OS 10.9, but the Appointment Scheduler will NOT work at all.
***** While DVMAX 7.6r2 will 'run' on Mac OS 10.6, earlier iterations of 10.6 can have problems rendering the appointment scheduler. Our recommendation for consistency and greatly improved rendering is to use no lower than 10.7.
## Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP (effective April 8th 2014), Windows Server 2003 (effective July 14th 2015) or Windows 7 (January 2020).
# DVMAX Faxing service does not work with Mac OS 10.10 and higher at this time. Additionally, magnetic card swipers (MSR120, and MSR213V) will not work on 10.11 or higher.
