Remote Access Methods

Listed below are commonly used remote control solutions used for accessing server and/or workstations of DVMAX Users. These applications would allow a user to access a workstation located at the clinic to use DVMAX Client on that workstation. DVMAX Tech Support is not able to offer any suggestions, feedback, or help with setup or troubleshooting with these ancillary applications. Please consult with an IT technician for additional information.

How does Remote Access Differ from the DVMAX Remote Processing Feature?

Remote Access

  • Requires Internet access
  • Uses one of the clinic's DVMAX licenses and workstations
  • Live view of the data
  • Management items (inventory management, patient codes, system constants, and general management) can be edited

Remote Processing

  • Does not require Internet access
  • Allows staff to take a copy of their data in the field
  • Is not a live view of the data
  • Requires a sync of the data
  • Management items (inventory management, patient codes, system constants, and general management) should not edited
  • Requires additional DVMAX licensing and configuration
