Generating a Net Value Report Using the Custom Print Option

Applies to: DVMAX v7.0.12 and higher

Purpose: The Net Value Report in DVMAX v8.6 prints with sliced text, making it difficult to read. This document provides instructions for a workaround by using the DVMAX custom print feature.

Note: Users must have access to the Inventory Management role to perform the steps outlined below

Searching for report content

1. From the Section pull-down, choose Inventory Management
2. Search for Inventory Items
3. Search for the group of items for which you'd like to generate the report. For example, if you are only reporting the net value of Prescription Medications, search for all items that begin with the Item Code Rx. If you are printing the full list, click All Records

Generating the report

1. Download the following report - Net Value Report_Updated.4qr
2. From the list of items you have generated, choose Print from the File pull-down
3. Choose the Printing Option of Custom and click Print. A Quick Report box opens.
4. From the File pull-down, choose Open
5. Navigate to the Net Value Custom Report.4qr report you downloaded in Step 1
6. From the File menu, choose Generate

NOTE: This report displays the Net Value of the inventory using two different calculation methods - Last Cost and Highest Cost. The built-in Net Value Report, printed from the Inventory Management area, calculates based on the Highest Cost value.
