4D Info Report Runtime Error on Server Application
If your DVMAX server application is showing a 4D_Info_Report error (see screenshot below) and causing your client workstation to disconnect from the server, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
This error is related to the 4D information component log (server application logging) and can be resolved by restarting the server application. This error can also be prevented in the future by turning off the logging component in DVMAX, see steps below.
Select Abort on the Runtime Error.
Reboot the DVMAX Server application by navigating to File> Quit (DVMAX>Quit if on a Mac server)
Within “Disconnect from Server in” change 10 to 0 minutes and select OK.
Once the server application fully quits, relaunch the server application.
You should now be able to connect all client workstations.
If you would like to turn off the logging component to prevent this error in the future, follow the steps below:
Launch DVMAX Client
Navigate to the Section menu, while holding down your Shift Key select System Constants.
This will launch Advance settings within DVMAX, read the warning alert and select I understand
Within the Settings tab, at the bottom of the window, use the filter to search for: internal.4DInfoComponent.use
Within the Value field, double click on the word True
Remove the word True and type in False
The DVMAX server application will need to be relaunched again to fully disable the logging component.
When it is coinvent, reboot the DVMAX Server application:
Close out of DVMAX Client on all workstations
On the DVMAX Server application navigate to File> Quit (DVMAX>Quit if on a Mac server)
Within “Disconnect from Server in” change 10 to 0 minutes and select OK.
Once the server application fully quits, relaunch the server application.
The 4D Server Logging Component is now disabled.
