From the Section pull-down, choose Reminders (this option is only available if you are on the DVMAX Main Screen)
In the lower left corner of the Reminder window, choose Setup
- Send Reminders - choose how often the clinic will send reminders and how many reminders each patient will receive
- Mail - choose the format for the reminder cards that will be printed on postcards
  - Built-In - a standard reminder card that is built into DVMAX. The same wording is used on all three reminders printed for the patient.
    - The body of the card read as follows: Our records show that your pet is due for a visit to the office and for the exams, vaccinations or procedures listed below. Remember that their health depends on you! Please call and schedule an appointment.
  - 4D Write - allows the clinic to manually create reminder cards in Patient Word Processing. Clinics can create different reminder card text for each reminder. **Note: you must create the word processing document with margins that fit on the reminder card. Clinic and client addresses must also be included on the reminder card.
  - Semi-Custom - allows the clinic to edit the text of the built-in reminder card, while keeping the format.
- Email - choose the format for the reminder cards that will be emailed to the client (the same options listed for Mail, are available for email)

From the Section pull-down, choose System Constants (may require additional security access)
Click on Email Reminders
Under the Server section, enter Outgoing Mail Server information (also known as an SMTP server) and Incoming Mail Server Information (also known as a POP server)
Under Options, enter
- From Address - the address you type here is the address from which Email Reminders will be sent
- Reply to Address - the address to which replies will be sent
- E-Mail Subject - the email subject for reminder notifications
- Check off Send Reminders by Email If Possible
