NOTE: This is NOT a document for how to upgrade from older versions of DVMAX. This article assumes you have DVMAX v7.6, or higher, already running, and that you are only moving to a new computer/server.

Step 1: Export Users and Passwords

Step 2: Install DVMAX Software.

Note: If you are running on a Windows 64-bit machine, be sure to use the 64 Bit installer.

Step 3: Move Data and Images from Old Server to New Server

        Windows: C:/Program Files/DVMAXProgramFiles7/DVMAXServerFolder/Server Database/Web/customReports
        Macintosh: Macintosh HD::Applications::DVMAXProgramFiles7::DVMAXServerFolder:Web:customReports

Step 4: Launch DVMAX Server

Step 5: Configure Backup

We recommend the following configuration:

C:/DVMAXDatabaseFiles/DVMAXBackupFolder on Windows
Macintosh HD:Documents:DVMAXDatabaseFiles:DVMAXBackupFolder on Macintosh
C:/DVMAXDatabaseFiles/DVMAXDataFolder on Windows
Macintosh HD:Documents:DVMAXDatabaseFiles:DVMAXDataFolder on Macintosh

Step 6: Configure Auto Session Management (DVMAX v8.6 ONLY)

Step 7: Configure Cache

Step 8: Import Passwords

Step 9: Enable Replication (Applies only to v8.6 and Only if Using Remote Processing Feature)

*Note: If the server IP address has changed, when logging in to the client application for the first time after the server migration, the user will get a runtime error. Click Continue to the alert and the user should see the new server IP address displayed. Select this new server and click OK.
