Sending Patient Status Updates

When a patient status is changed to deceased, an update is automatically sent to the rVetLink portal.

Sending Information from the Patient Record

It is possible to send many different pieces of information to the referring hospital, including: appointment status (checked-in/checked out), lab results, attachments, or word processing documents. The rVetLink on-boarding and support teams will work with each hospital to manage the configuration of information to be sent based on clinic preference. Sending Word Processing Documents

Any "finalized" word processing case documents can be sent to the referring practice. DVMAX considers a finalized case document to be a case document with a # anywhere in the saved description of the document.

To finalize a document:

  • Open the client or patient word processing document to be sent to the referring practice
  • Edit as necessary
  • Click Save in the lower right-hand corner of the word processing window
  • In the Save As: field, add a # to the Name of the document (We recommend adding at the beginning or end of the document name).
  • Choose Case Document as the Document Class
  • Click Save as Case Document in the upper right-hand corner of the window
  • A copy of the document will be saved to the case documents section of this patient record, with the date the document was saved. *The case document will be a snapshot of the document as it stands today.
