DVMAX Research v3.1 System Requirements
For optimal performance we recommend using the suggested requirements.
If you are using DVMAX Research 1.2 or lower, please contact technical support before upgrading or introducing new operating systems. The new operating system may not be compatible with older versions of DVMAX and may cause problems when installed.

*RAM needs are closely tied to datafile size. Requirements may be adjusted based on each facility's datafile size.
Virtualization
- If you are using a Virtual Environment then each virtual server instance will need to meet the system requirements for the desired application.
- We do not support a host disk supporting multiple database applications.
- We do not support a host disk for the database being a SAN (Storage Area Network) disk.
- If you are using Terminal Services, the Terminal Server must be a separate server than the server hosting the DVMAX Server application.
** Windows Server 2011 is a re-branded SBS (Small Business Server). While DVMAX can run on these machines, we recommend against it as they have many other services and applications that run behind the scenes, making a less than ideal environment for a DVMAX Server. Keep in mind that Windows 2011 is just a name - it is identical to Windows 2008, except that it includes SBS services.
*** For Windows, we require that whatever computer is hosting the 'Server' application be a 64-Bit Operating System. The performance gains and memory allocation to DVMAX are substantial and it provides a stable environment for DVMAX to run on.

Administrative Workstation Requirements
Administrative users will need to install a DVMAX Client application on their workstation to access the Setup area of DVMAX.

Date Format
Your date format must be consistent across all computers that access DVMAX in any shape or form. This includes the Server, workstations, and any external integrations (lab equipment, etc.) that talk to DVMAX.
