Imaging Configuration for DVMAX on Cross-Platform Configuration
Applies to: DVMAX v7.0.12 and higher
Purpose: This document provides guidance on how to configure your image path when using both Macintosh and Windows computers in your facility.

For your Macintosh Workstations
Mount the drive on the workstation
- From the Go menu at the top of the screen, choose Connect to Server
- Enter the IP address of your DVMAX Server (or the workstation on which the DVMAX Images folder is located) and click the Connect button
- When prompted, choose Registered User
- Enter the Administrator username and password for the Server (or the workstation on which the DVMAX Images folder is located) and place a check in the Remember password in keychain option.
- Click the Connect button.
- A list of shares will appear. Locate the DVMaxImages Mount, select it and click the OK button.
- The DVMaxImages Mount should now be on your desktop. It will remain connected unless the workstation loses its connection to the server or a user disconnects the share.
If you would like the share to automatically connect after a user logs into the workstation:
- From the Apple icon at the top of the screen, choose System Preferences
- Click on the Users & Groups icon.
- Click on your user account
- Click the Login Items button
- Click the "+" sign on the lower left.
- Click on the DVMaxImages Mount and click Add. The DVMaxImages Mount should now appear under the list of items that will open automatically when you log in.
In DVMAX Client
- From the File pull-down, choose Preferences
- Set the local image path to the mounted drive
- Repeat for each Mac workstation

For your Windows Workstations
Map the drive on the workstation
- Click on the Start/Windows Icon at the bottom left and choose Computer
- At the top of the windows explorer window, click Map network drive
- A dialog will appear for mapping a network path. Choose a drive letter that is not in use. We recommend Z:or I:, but whatever is available is fine.
- For the Folder path, click Browse
- Click on the "+" or Arrow/triangle to expand the available folders for your Server computer
- You should see the DVMAXImagesFolder. Highlight it and click OK
- Ensure Reconnect at logon is checked
- Click Finish
- If prompted to authenticate, fill in your Server's Administrator user and password and check the box to Remember the credentials.
In DVMAX Client
- From the File pull-down, choose Preferences
- Set the local image path to the mounted drive
- Repeat for each Windows workstation
