Using Pet Detect in DVMAX

This document outlines how to install the collar templates, and how to print them from within DVMAX. View the document on installing and configuring the Pet Detect Printer if you have not set the printer up yet. (Installation Instructions for the Pet Detect Printer)
Collar Template Setup
Once the printer is installed, you will need to import word processing templates into DVMAX so that they print correctly to the collar media.
- Download the templates.
Windows: CollarTemplates_Win.zip
Macintosh: collartemplates-mac.zip - Unzip the folder and place it onto your desktop for easy access.
- In DVMAX Client, go into any patient record, click the Word Processing tab, then click Disk...
- Browse to your desktop and open the Template folder.
- Double click one of the template files. The template will open within DVMAX.
- Go to the File menu and choose Save As
- Name the file according to it's size (6, 12, 18 in. etc.)
- Click on Document Class and change it to Other Document
- Click on Save (NOT "Save as Case Document")
- Repeat steps 3-9 for each additional collar template.
How to Print a PetDetect Collar
Once all the setup is finished, printing a collar is very easy.
- Open a Patient record you want to print a collar for.
- Go to the Word Processing tab and double click the collar media size you need.
- When the template is open. If you need to add additional details to the collar, such as reason for visit, special needs, etc., do so before printing.
- Note: there is limited space on the collar template. The margins in the collar templates are already set.
- Go to the File menu and choose Print.
- Select the Star TSP7 printer for the print job.
- If you get a popup asking to reflow the page, click No.
- The collar media will print.
- Click cancel on the DVMAX Word Processing Document. If prompted to save it, click No.
