Window opens outside of view when accessed within DVMAX
Sometimes a window within DVMAX can be pushed outside of view, making it so the Window only partially appears along the edge of the program. In some rare cases, the window will not appear at all, but instead displays the cursor pointer as 2 squares. This document will explain how to correct these issues.
- Log into DVMAX as Administrator or Sneakers Software, Inc.
- Go to the Section Menu, hold down SHIFT and click System Constants.
- When the warning appears, click I Understand.
- Click the Functions tab and then choose Data Editor.
- Scroll down through the list of tables at the lower left until you find Windows.
- Click the All button on the right.
- Locate the Window that is causing problems for you, and the user the issue occurs on.
For example, when you're logged in as Staff, and double clicking an Attachment in DVMAX does not open the Document window, look for the Window record called Documents:Input for the user labeled Staff.
- Delete the records that are causing issues by highlighting them and clicking the Delete button.
Note: The Windows table only stores the position of each 'window' opened in DVMAX. If you delete the saved position, it will restore it to the default position the next time that window is opened. Because of this, you cannot cause any problems by deleting records in the Windows table.
- When the records are deleted close out of the Data Editor and any other open windows, then quit and re-launch DVMAX.
