Configuring the multi-site scheduler

This document primarily serves as a resource for multi-site (DVMAX MPA) locations, but can also be used for singular sites wanting to access the full DVMAX Scheduler remotely from anywhere.

NOTE: This document is primarily for DVMAX Tech Support to execute. Do not proceed unless instructed.

Step 1: Prepare User Authentication

Bring up the Data Editor.
Locate the sec_users table and click All.
Select all records and click Delete.

Proceed back to the Functions tab of the Advanced Settings dialog window.
Click Execute Method and type: sec_mirrorFrom4D
Click OK, then proceed back to the Data Editor
Return to the sec_users table.
Your list of users will have returned, but with new IDs (These IDs correspond with the IDs for the 4D users in the Set Users & Passwords toolbox).
For each user that will need access to the Remote Site scheduler, manually enter the password for that user.
NOTE: this password needs to be identical to the 4D user's password.

Repeat this entire step for each of your remote sites.

Step 2: Test User Authentication

If you are using DVMAX MPA, proceed to the command palette in DVMAX Client.
Right Click the Appt button and choose the remote site you want to connect to.
The scheduler should open and prompt you to log in.
Enter in the Remote site's user & password you configured.
You should successfully log in. If it says "Sorry, incorrect login", recheck that your sec_users ID, User and Password, corresponds with the 4D users toolbox ID (labeled as Reference), user, and password.
